Barbecue Guide
When choosing a barbecue it’s essential to keep in mind the type of fuel you want to use. We have wood, charcoal and gas barbecues available.
This guide will help you to better understand all the options available when choosing the right barbecue for your summer kitchen.
Guide to choosing a BBQ: which fuel should I use?
A log fire produces a considerable amount of heat which may damage the product in the long run unless precautions are taken. Our barbecues’ firebox and grill area are strengthened to withstand log fires. Many BBQs come with a metal guard that protects the hood from heat. Our BBQs are suitable for cooking on a log fire and for frequent use, guaranteeing that they last a really long time.
WOOD BARBECUES
Wood gives a unique aroma and an unmistakable flavour to food. Cooking on a log fire is the natural way to grill food, but this takes a certain amount of experience and patience. In fact, it takes at least an hour to make hot coals from wood which means that the barbecue must be lit in due time. Moreover, the production of hot coals and the distance between them and the grill must be mastered. The grill height is adjustable, and the BBQ comes with a wood brazier in which the hot coals are produced.
CHARCOAL BARBECUES
Compared to grilling with wood, preparing hot coals with charcoal takes less time. Charcoal needs plenty of air to burn well, so it is good to light it and place it on the perforated grill. All BBQs have a special ash pan that favours charcoal combustion and hot coal production
GAS BARBECUES
A gas barbecue would likely be preferable if the simplicity of use is a fundamental guide. These products are effortless to turn on (just like a domestic hob) and don’t require any unique experience on which to cook. Our gas barbecues are stainless steel; some are countertop models, while others come on wheels. They are compact, light, easy to transport and moderately sized; they are ideal for terraces, balconies, and small spaces.
Guide: Materials used in our barbecues
A perfect structure must satisfy both aesthetic and functional demands. A combination of quality materials is required to achieve these results. A sturdy, practical product and requires very little maintenance.
For BBQs, we use:
- Cement mix
- Marmotech
CEMENT MIX
Consisting of a mixture of prime-quality cement, aggregates and refractory materials. Cement mix barbecues are supplied unfinished and include a painting kit. They must be coated with the unique wall paint provided that is particularly thick, waterproof and protects the barbecue from the elements and wear and tear.
MARMOTECH
A mixture of granulated marble creates an innovative material with very high thermal resistance that doesn’t require a finishing coat of paint. It is sufficient to apply our transparent protective liquid. Available in two versions: a polished, grey granite effect and a polished, red granite effect.
An oven is essential for even more decadent flavours and an unmistakable aroma.
REFRACTORY OVEN
It stores heat longer, ensuring uniform cooking results even after the fire. Our ovens are made of refractory materials, and their floors comply with the CE regulation in force regarding contact with food (CE 1935/2004)
STAINLESS STEEL OVEN
It works by exploiting the same fire that heats the grill: the outgoing flue gases surround the cooking chamber, heating it to the perfect temperature to cook any food. The oven will be hot and ready to use each time the barbecue is lit. The door is in cast iron with ceramic glass and a thermometer.
Barbecue Guide: The Important Details
For real professional grill masters, the small details are essential; that’s why our BBQs are designed to be functional. Including;
METAL HOOD GUARD
It strengthens and protects the hood from the heat of wood combustion for an even longer-lasting barbecue.
FAST-FIRE BOX SYSTEM
A special ash pan with improved charcoal combustion airflow and easier cleaning after the fire has gone out.
REAR OR SIDE FIREWOOD LOADING
For loading firewood even more safely and making cooking operations easier. Available on some selected models.
FIREBOX WITH SIDE BRAZIER
To completely exploit the grill area without wasting an inch and to cook in total safety, shielded from the reflected heat of the fire, the side brazier also makes it a lot easier to continuously produce hot coals for the entire duration of the cooking process.
STRENGTHENED FIREBOX AND GRILL TO WITHSTAND LOG FIRES
Those who like to use their barbecues frequently and prefer wood to charcoal are obliged to choose products with a firebox, and grill area strengthened to withstand the heat produced by a log fire. Some of our models are made with fireboxes reinforced by a double wall with natural rear ventilation and a grill area with a refractory floor and insulated padding.
